Fans of deep sea biodiversity, it’s your lucky day because this highlight video is over thirteen minutes of some of the best sights spotted during our H1993 dive of the NA153 expedition to explore the deep seas near Johnston Atoll. Enjoy an extra large and thick bamboo coral taller than ROV Hercules, translucent pink sea cucumber, and even a deep sea lava tunnel spotted on the rocky seafloor. Spot Gorgonocephalus basket stars, a juvenile Chaunocops anglerfish, and bright red stalked crinoids and enjoy some gorgeous views from both ROV Hercules and ROV Atalanta as it oversees Herc explore the seafloor. Fans of the Venus flytrap sea anemone (Actinoscyphia aurelia) and Anthomastus sp. mushroom corals don’t worry, you’re also covered! Explore this wonderful region beyond US national jurisdiction but close to the Pacific Remote Island Marine National Monument with us and let us know which sighting is your favorite!
