René Olsen

René received her Bachelor's degree in Geological and Geological Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island. She is currently working towards her Masters degree in Geological Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. Her research concerns the hydrothermal vent field in the crater of Kick 'em Jenny submarine volcano which is located 7.5 km north of the island of Grenada in the Caribbean. This will be her first research cruise with the Institute for Exploration and the University of Rhode Island.
