Ariel Zych
Ariel Zych is the education manager at the Science Friday Initiative, where she has the privilege of creating and highlighting exciting hands-on activities, lesson plans, and science club challenges to further engage the public in topics from Science Friday’s radio program, YouTube channel, and web articles. Ariel has been an educator and curriculum developer in a variety of formal and informal education settings including after school science programs, public outreach events, cruises, zoos, museums, universities, and as a high school science teacher in DC Public Schools. As a result of these experiences, Ariel has dedicated her career to finding creative and diverse approaches to immersing students, parents, and educators in authentic science and engineering experiences. When she’s not tinkering or messing around with new lab experiments, Ariel can be found cycling along the Hudson River or tromping through New York’s magnificent parks on the lookout for terrestrial arthropods!
Ariel Zych graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with degrees in Entomology and Biology and completed her M.S. degree in Zoology at the University of Florida in 2010.
