Adam Skarke
Adam is a doctoral candidate in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment at the University of Delaware. Adam’s research focuses on seafloor bedform features within complex and heterogeneous coastal environments, and their relationship to the dynamics of near-bed flow created by interacting waves and currents. Specifically, he is utilizing extensive field observations to model the continually evolving bi-directional relationship between boundary layer flow conditions and the morphology of the seafloor. As a member of the Coastal Sediments, Hydrodynamics, and Engineering Lab, Adam is involved in the development and deployment of autonomous underwater vehicles for ocean exploration applications. Adam has participated in a number of research cruises around the world, including the Institute for Archeological Oceanography and Institute for Exploration’s 2007 Black Sea expedition.
